Our Department Participated in the Conference of the Association of Germanists of the Czech Republic in Ústí nad Labem 2026

Members of the Department of German Studies participated in the international scientific conference of the Association of Germanists of the Czech Republic (KREUZ)WEGE DER GERMANISTIK, held from May 27 to 30, 2026. This year, the event was hosted by the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. It is a prominent scholarly forum within the Central European German studies community, focusing on current research trends in German linguistics, literary studies, and the didactics of German as a Foreign Language.

Workshop on Regional Studies

On 24 June 2026, a workshop about „Landeskunde“, or regional studies, was held by OeAD lecturer Katharina Schmidt. The students of the teacher training college in Krnov got to know the countries of the DACHL region in a fun and interactive way. First, they had to mark German-speaking places on an interactive map.

31st Annual Student Research Conference of the Department of German Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava

On 21 April 2026, the Department of German Studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava, hosted the 31st annual Student Research Conference. This year′s conference was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, prof. Mgr. Robert Antonín, Ph.D., and chaired by doc. Mgr. Martin Mostýn, Ph.D.
