31st Annual Student Research Conference of the Department of German Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava

On 21 April 2026, the Department of German Studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava, hosted the 31st annual Student Research Conference. This year′s conference was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, prof. Mgr. Robert Antonín, Ph.D., and chaired by doc. Mgr. Martin Mostýn, Ph.D.

Review of the 14th German-Czech Cultural Days in Ostrava – DER KULTURPUNKT

This year′s edition of the German-Czech Cultural Days – THE CULTURAL POINT – offered a varied and rich programme that attracted numerous visitors and received very positive feedback. Dr Milan Pišl officially opened the entire festival of German-language culture on 8 October 2025 at the Komůrka Club in Ostrava.

A Day with Translation 2025 – German Studies Workshops

On March 18, 2025, the Faculty of Arts hosted the formal closing of the translation competition A Day with Translation, which was unique for two reasons: firstly, it marked the 20th anniversary of the event and secondly, it featured a completely new format.
