Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava and AXA ASSISTANCE CZ Join Forces to Offer Students Internships, Placements and Career Opportunities

On Monday, 14 September 2026, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava, Anna Pumprová, and Monika Popelářová, Deputy CEO and HR Director CEE & Germany at AXA ASSISTANCE CZ, s.r.o., signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation. The agreement provides students with new opportunities for long-term placements, internships, study visits, and direct contact with a potential employer.

The cooperation includes the implementation of long-term placements and internships, as well as study visits for students directly at the attractive premises of AXA ASSISTANCE CZ, located in the GATE Nová Karolina complex in Ostrava.

The cooperation is not limited to a single field of study. It will be available to students enrolled in the Foreign Languages for Business programme, German Language in Professional Communication, particularly English, German and Polish, as well as students of foreign-language philology, translation studies and teacher-training programmes at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels.

Foreign Languages Open the Door to Business Careers

AXA ASSISTANCE CZ offers positions suitable for both students and graduates with a good command of English, German or Polish. Students may also benefit from part-time employment opportunities and above-standard employee benefits.

The cooperation between the academic and business sectors is the result of negotiations conducted by members of the Department of German Studies, Martin Mostýn and Milan Pišl, together with company representatives. One of their objectives was to highlight the importance of German language skills in the labour market of the Moravian-Silesian Region, while also drawing attention to a fact that is often neglected: companies are continuously seeking employees with strong foreign-language skills and are offering them attractive career opportunities.

The official signing ceremony was also attended by the Vice-Dean for Studies and Guarantor of the Foreign Languages for Business study programme, Zuzana Honová, and Petra Ryšková, HR Manager CEE & Germany at AXA ASSISTANCE CZ.
