Who we are
The DAAD supports the academic internationalisation, promotes German studies and the German language abroad and advises decision makers on matters of cultural, education and development policy.
Its budget is derived mainly from the federal funding for various ministries, primarily the German Federal Foreign Office, but also from the European Union and a number of enterprises, organisations and foreign governments.
In Ostrava, the DAAD funds two native speaker positions in German studies: a lecturer and a teaching assistant. You can take an OnSet language test in Ostrava free of charge for the purpose of scholarship application.
