Introducing the Disinformation Project in Wroclaw, Poland

conference "Linguistische Treffen in Wroclaw" in Poland. In his contribution, Martin Mostýn focused on the presentation of linguistic means used in texts with high disinformation potential. Based on his corpus of web texts from Czech and German-language disinformation media on the topic of climate, he pointed out strong emotional framing, presented the use of very specific metaphors, and conducted a co-occurrence analysis of keywords. Milan Pišl chose texts from social networks that serve as amplifiers in the dissemination of disinformation content for his research and in his contribution he emphasised the high degree of emotionality, the cooperation of texts with visual material, and also the interactive component of communication on social networks. He demonstrated his conclusions using posts that spread economic disinformation with the aim of undermining trust in state institutions, discrediting political decisions, and destabilizing the social system. Both conference presentations will be published in the "Linguistische Treffen in Wroclaw" series.
