AnotationThe project aims to deal with the so far mainly marginalized topics of both history of philosophy and of its current discussion. The researchers involved in the project will be focused on issues related to history and philosophy of science (the Early Modern Mosaic physics as one of the sources of the rise of modern science; the place of analysis situs in the history of geometry; the philosophical discussion related to colours between Goethe, Schopenhauer, and Wittgenstein; the Russian cosmism), present-day epistemology (human experience of values), aesthetics (the work of Adriana Piper), modern objective idealism (Josiah Royce), and eugenics (Anna Pamrová). This highly interdisciplinary approach to the mainly unknown and marginalized personalities and topics will help to understand the philosophy and its development from a brand new point of view and allow, therefore, to put this discipline into a proper historical and scientific context. The international dimension of the project (i.e. planned publications in English; the active attendance of the project members at international conferences) will, eventually, facilitate to introduce the research to a broader, not only Czech professional audience.
