AnotationThe proposed one-year project, Czech Linguistics of the 21st Century - Interviews, Topics, Analysis, conducted in collaboration between students in doctoral and master's programmes and scholars, is focused on the preparation and publication of a book with the working title Interviews with Czech Linguists of the 21st Century. This book will present interviews with 20 personalities in contemporary Czech linguistics and Bohemistics, representing the middle generation of Czech linguists. The interviews will delve into their journey into linguistics, provide insights into their professional careers and pedagogical work, and most importantly, explore their research interests. Through the perspectives of these individuals, the monograph will outline the face of contemporary Czech linguistics and present its various areas and the range of issues being addressed. The interviews will not only demonstrate the continuity of contemporary linguistics with the traditions of the 20th century but also address current topics such as textual warfare and fake news, gender and its reflection in language, Czech language education, science popularization, the contribution of humanities to society, women in academia, and the role of linguistics in addressing contemporary global issues. At a broader level, this proposed project will highlight key themes in contemporary Czech linguistics, their transformation, and their relevance over a longer time span. It will outline the roles of Czech linguistics in modern society. The key outcomes of this project will include one book, two scholarly studies, two partial interviews for the Acta onomastica journal (SCOPUS database), and eight interviews for the Z Čejovny podcast. The project will involve the participation of 3 scholars, 2 master's degree students, and 3 doctoral students. Keywords: Czech linguistics, linguists, interviews, Bohemistics
