AnotationEcocritical studies of Ethnic American literatures are a rarity within the Czech academy, as are ecocritical studies in general. Our project aims to fill these critical niches through an examination of conceptions of environmental justice in diverse works by African American, American Indian, and Latinx writers. While rendering this panorama of peoples, regions, and cultures historically affected by ecological degradation, our research team will seek to highlight literary responses to environmental racism, and expose calls for environmental justice oftentimes neglected within the standard American ecocritical canon.
