AnotationLoanwords from foreign languages and linguistic interferences (i.e. negative influences of the language A on the acquisition of the language B) are closely connected, because loanwords from foreign languages are often motivated by linguistic interferences. Our project will concern linguistic contacts between two related languages, French and Spanish. These two languages have always been in very close contact, influencing each other for centuries. During the project solution, we will try to answer these questions: What Spanish loanwords have settled for good in French? And, on the contrary, what French loanwords are used in contemporary French? What is their frequency of use in press and other media? To what degree are they adapted in the language? What typical errors do students and native speakers of Spanish make when learning French as a foreign language?
