Assistant professor with focus on Aesthetics

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure, reference number: OU-132622/25-2024, to fill an academic position of:

Expected starting date:

• 1^st of February, 2025 or by agreement.
  
  

Working hours:

• part-time: 30 %.
  
  

Language in which the selection procedure will be conducted:

• Czech.
  
  

Salary:

• according to the Internal Regulations of the University of Ostrava.
  
  

Job description:

• provides teaching in bachelor's and master's study programmes (including supervising and opposing theses) and participates in the development of the study programmes;
• participates in the doctoral study programmes;
• participates in creative activities – especially in independently managing complex research and development tasks, in active publishing in peer-reviewed journals in participating in scientific conferences and professional meetings, and presenting results of creative activities;
• supports the third role of the university – especially in the form of popularizing creative activity, in the administration associated with the performed activity and in the self-government of the university.
  
  

Requirements:

• Master's degree in aesthetics, philosophy or a related field;
• Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a social science or humanities discipline;
• pedagogical experience of at least 1 year;
• prerequisites for pedagogical activities in the given field;
• relevant scientific and publication activity in the field;
• experience in dealing with grant and scientific research projects an advantage;
• EU research level: R2 – Recognized;
• knowledge of the English language at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; v
• knowledge of the Czech language at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
• excellent communication skills;
• independent, responsible and creative approach to work;
• civil and moral integrity.
