The Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava, announces a vacancy for the position

• of postdoctoral fellow in philosophy
  (full-time employment from September 2012 until the end of June 2015).
  The position is funded through the project “Strengthening research institutions at the University of Ostrava” CZ.1.07/2.3.00/30.0047 from the European Social Fund in the Czech Republic.
  
  

Candidates should meet these criteria:

• A very active researcher having completed the Ph.D. on March 29th 2008 or later at a different institution than the University of Ostrava.
• Excellent knowledge of Czech or English language.
• Experience with teaching activities, lectures, seminars and discussions with students.
• Candidates are required to publish scientific papers during the course of the fellowship.
• Visits to research institutions abroad are also expected.

We offer:

• Full-time employment with possible starting date September 1^st, 2012
• Salary: 45 000 Kč (Czech crowns - CZK; cca 1 700 €) per month
• The postdoctoral fellow will work on the concept of nature in philosophy, its development, content and consequences for sciences
• Independent and responsible work in a professional team
