Associate Professor with focus on General Psychology

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure, reference number: OU-132290/25-2024, to fill an academic position of:
- Associate Professor with focus on General Psychology
Expected starting date:
- 2nd of January, 2025 or by agreement.
Working hours:
- part-time: 50 %.
Language in which the selection procedure will be conducted:
- Czech.
Salary:
- according to the Internal Regulations of the University of Ostrava.
Job description:
- provides teaching in bachelor's, master's and doctoral study programmes (including supervising and opposing theses) and participating in the development of the study programmes;
- participates in the doctoral study programmes;
- participates in creative activities – especially in independently managing complex research and development tasks, in active publishing in peer-reviewed journals and other forms of publication outputs, in supervising/leading/coordinating basic/applied research projects, including securing sources of financing, in participating in scientific conferences and professional meetings, and presenting results of creative activities;
- supports the third role of the university – especially in the form of popularizing creative activity, in the administration associated with the performed activity and in the self-government of the university.
Requirements:
- appointment as associate professor in the field of general / social psychology or psychology recognized according to valid regulations of the Czech Republic;
- prerequisites for pedagogical and research activities;
- active scientific and publication activity in the field of psychology (with emphasis on publications in IF/Scopus journals) in the last 5 years;
- experience in dealing with scientific grants;
- EU research level: R3 – Established/R4 – Leading (research group);
- knowledge of the English language at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- knowledge of the Czech language at C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- excellent communication skills;
- independent, responsible and creative approach to work;
- civil and moral integrity.
