The Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure (ref. no. OU-142031/25-2023) to fill the following systematized vacancy:
- 1 vacancy for an academic staff member – Assistant Professor with a focus on History of Education at the Department of History
When will we welcome you among us?

Type of employment contract:
- part-time: 10 %
Wage conditions:
- according to the Internal Wage Regulations
Job description:
- teaching in bachelor's and master's study programs (including supervising and opposing theses) and participating in the development of the study programs
- in case of approval by the scientific council of the faculty, the assistant professor participates in the doctoral study programs
- creative activity (solving demanding research tasks, active publication activity in peer-reviewed journals, or other forms of publication outputs, participation in scientific conferences, active presentation of the results of creative activity, etc.)
- participating in the third role of the university, especially in the form of popularizing creative activity, in the administration connected with the performed activity and in the self-administration of the university
Qualifications and other requirements:
- Ph.D. in history;
- experience in the field of history for at least 5 years
- EU research level: "R2 – recognized"
- prerequisites for pedagogical and scientific-research activities
- research and pedagogical focus on the history of education
- active scientific and publication activity in the field
- experience with involvement in grant and scientific research projects
- proactive approach, systematicity and independence
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- intermediate knowledge of the English language at level B2 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages
