Researcher II for Medievalism

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure (ref. no. OU-92519/25-2021) to fill the following systematized vacancy:
- 1 vacancy for a non-academic staff member – Researcher II for Medievalism
with part-time contract at the Centre for Research in Medieval Society and Culture – VIVARIUM
Requirements:
- Master's degree in the field of Philosophy or in a related field;
- Ph.D. or equivalent (5 years after obtaining the PhD) in the field of Philosophy;
- publications activity in the field of Medieval thought and philosophy;
- experience in solving grant projects is an advantage;
- prerequisites for research activities;
- EU research level – R2 – Recognized;
- excellent communication skills;
- independent, responsible and creative approach to work.
Language requirements:
- knowledge of English Language, min. at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- knowledge of Czech Language, min. at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Job descriptions:
The researcher II will independently manage complex research and development tasks in his or her field, institute and conduct research projects or small-scale contractual research cooperation (e.g., junior grants), cooperate with a research team along with researchers from abroad, participate in publication activities under industry requirements and in accordance with the standards of creative activities at UO, and secure research funding (such as the submission of grants and searching for opportunities for contractual research cooperation). The researcher II may provide instruction in bachelor's or master's degree programmes or, with the consent of the scientific council of the faculty, serve as a supervisor in doctoral degree programmes (including the supervision and critique of final theses).
Wages:
- Wage grade 6 (as per the University of Ostrava's internal wage regulations).

Working hours:
- Part-time – 20%.

The first round of the selection procedure will involve the assessment of the materials sent by applicants. Only selected applicants will be invited to take part in the second round. The employer reserves the right to cancel the selection procedure or to decide not to accept any of the applications without stating the grounds for this decision.
