Assistant professor for French-Written Literature

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure (ref. no. OU-92519/25-2020) to fill the following vacancy:

  • 1 vacancy for an academic staff member – assistant professor for French-Written Literature with part-time contract at the Department of Romance Studies

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in the field Teaching French Language, French Philology or in a related field;
  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Romance Literature, Literary Theory, Literary Comparative studies or in a related field;
  • appropriate research activity and publications in the field of Romance literature during the last 5 years, including comparative literature of the Czech-Romance literary environment in compliance with the research focus of the department;
  • communication and organizational skills;
  • potential for further career development;
  • willingness to participate in the qualification growth of the workplace;
  • independent, responsible and creative approach to work.

Language requirements:

  • knowledge of English Language, min. at level B2.

Wages:

  • Wage grade 6 (as per the University of Ostrava’s internal wage regulations).

Working hours:

  • Part-time – 50%.

Expected starting date:

  • 1 February 2020 or by agreement.

  • a professional curriculum vitae including an overview of the applicant’s previous career experience;

  • copies of certificates of completed education and academic degrees;
  • a list of the applicant’s publications.

The first round of the selection procedure will involve the assessment of the materials sent by applicants. Only selected applicants will be invited to take part in the second round. The employer reserves the right to cancel the selection procedure or to decide not to accept any of the applications without stating the grounds for this decision.
