Associate professor or assistant professor with Ph.D. for British and American Literature

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure (ref. no. OU-86376/25-2018) to fill the following vacancy:
- 1 vacancy for an academic staff member - associate professor or assistant professor with Ph.D. for British and American Literature with a full-time contract at the Department of English and American Studies
Requirements:
- the title “docent” (associate professor) or Ph.D. in English Philology (with a focus on British and American Literature);
- research and teaching specialization in British and American Literature;
- publications in the field of British and American Literature during the last 5 years;
- potential for further career development (associate professorship);
- experience of working on grant-funded projects is welcome;
- independent, responsible and creative approach to work.
Wages:
- Wage grade 4 or 3 (as per the University of Ostrava’s internal wage regulations).

Working hours:
- Full-time (100% of the standard contracted hours) or by agreement.
Expected starting date:
- February 2019 or by agreement.
Required documents:

- a letter of motivation;
- a professional curriculum vitae including an overview of the applicant’s previous career experience;
- a recommendation from a previous employer, including contact details (e-mail, telephone) for two people who are able to provide references;
- copies of certificates of completed education and academic degrees;
- a list of the applicant’s publications.
The first round of the selection procedure will involve the assessment of the materials sent by applicants. Only selected applicants will be invited to take part in the second round. The employer reserves the right to cancel the selection procedure or to decide not to accept any of the applications without stating the grounds for this decision.
