The Faculty of Arts at the University of Ostrava is a great place to get a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree if you are looking for a personal approach, professionalism, a friendly atmosphere and a rich student life, all in the centre of the vibrant city that Ostrava is now becoming.

Czech for Foreigners

Jsem cizinec a chtěl bych se učit česky. If you have understood the previous sentence, you can boldly sign up for the study program Czech for Foreigners. Our colleague Michal Místecký will explain to you who the study is suitable for, and what will you learn.

Czech for Foreigners is taught by the Department of Czech Language.

English Philology

Explore English in depth, discover American and British literature, find out what eco-criticism is or, for example, how Native Americans influenced the development of English. Daniel Kopitz, the student of the Department of English and American Studies Daniel Kopitz, is well-acquainted with the Programme and will introduce it to you.

English Philology is taught by the Department of English and American Studies.
