AnotationThe research project focuses on the issue of mourning among survivors. The aim of the project is to find out how the process of grief is influenced by selected factors - spirituality, perceived life meaningfulness and hope. Other research objectives include, for example, finding out the relationship between complicated grief and post-traumatic development. The research project will consist of five researches, which will correspond to the objectives of five diploma theses. The first research will focus on the relationship between complicated mourning and post-traumatic development. The second research will aim to find out how dispositional hope influences the process of mourning. The third research will focus on the importance of spirituality in the process of mourning. The fourth and fifth researches will, through interviews with the survivors, examine what factors they consider to be helpful in the process of mourning, and how the loss of a close person influences their perceived life meaningfulness. The sample will consist of adults who had lost close relative a year or five years ago. The research project will consist of both quantitative and qualitative design. The quantitative part will be implemented through the Inventory of Complicated Grief (ICG), the Expressions of Spirituality Inventory (Revised), and the Adult Dispositional Hope Scale (ADHS). In the research, we will also monitor the impact of other variables, such as a particular form of religious belief, age, gender and proximity, respectively distance of time loss. Within the qualitative part of the research, half-structured interviews with the survivors will be conducted. These interviews will focus primarily on what factors the survivors themselves perceive as helpful in coping with the loss of a close person, but also on how this loss has affected their lives and perceived life-meaning. We will present the results of the research project at selected conferences and in professional articles.
