AnotationThe presented project goes in line with current trends of linguistic research regarding so-called linguistic picture of the world. We understand it as verbalized interpretation of reality anchored in a language; it may be described as a set of human thinking on world being manifested e.g. in customs, rituals, myths, norms, and values of particular society. The project is targeted on a description of a complex set of relations grasped in the linguistic arrangement of a text following from information on the extralinguistic world. Attention will be paid to phraseology, lexicology and literature of Slavonic languages which is motivated by factual accounts of craftsmanship. In the framework of the project we shall excerpt idioms whose components belong to a single topic craft and craftsman in Czech, Russian, Serbian, Polish, Croatian, Ukrainian, Slovak phraseology and consequently explication of their meanings in the languages in the scope of the research. Further on we will compare common spoken language, journalistic and literary texts concerning craft and craftsmen in above mentioned languages. Results of analysis of collected language material will be confronted with information from other fields of science, e.g. sociology, history, culture studies.
